The Lament For Those Of Us Who Drink More Than Lena Dunham

from Make Tapes by Rattle Rattle

/

lyrics

We'd order up our first round and
lament our lives of late --
of always working early and
getting laid off more than laid.

Our second round would be about
the better days before
and how they weren't much better but
at least they felt like ours.

For several round we would lament
how fast the last were through
and all the things we'd wanted to
we knew we'd never do:
we'd never be too young to face
the pitfalls of our fame
we'd never hear that blogosphere
a'hashin' out our names.

Beyond last call we'll still lament
our lives still at their forks.
We will never be as art
as the persons from New York.
